Overthrown

I wrote this one on APRIL 20, 2007 which was two Fridays before Spring break started. Has anyone felt as if you were just so tired that you shouldn't even be awake let alone in school? Well... try to relate to this one...

Overthrown
Staring at the board infront of me,
Trying to understand what I see,
Eyes begin blur,
As the speaking around me stirs,
The weight hits my eyes,
As I wish it was a different time,
Longing to be alone,
Unable to hear the noisey tones,
Of peoples' voices,
Not able to make my wanted choices,
Of relaxing,
Along with the contradiction of floating to the ceiling,
Slowly, my eyes being to drop,
Try to make it stop,
With one strong thought,
But its a hopeless shot,
No power against my body, with thoughts from the brain,
Enough to drive a person insane,
The true feeling of being tired,
Fighting against my want, my desire,
To stay strong, and not let thoughts of dreams take hold,
But, it seems my body is sold,
to its exhaustion and soreness,
It longs to rest,
which makes it resist,
the power of my brain,
which feels as if it's cut deep,
because that part of me too,
just longs sleep.

Hi, LeAnn,
I got your message and tried to look up when your speech is coming up, but I must have left my CW folder in school. I think it's tomorrow, but I'm not sure. Don't worry about your voice, just do the best you can. But if you really can't talk at all, we'll just put it off for a day or so. Hope you feel better by tomorrow.

Oh, and by the way, I enjoyed reading your poem. Unfortunately, I can relate to it after a long busy weekend. :)
